Together, our silence can speak volumes
Social media has a wealth of benefits and, if used correctly, helps people connect and celebrate the beauty in life. Yet as with anything, with misuse or overuse, the negatives can far outweigh the positives and frighteningly, young people today feel like there’s no escape.
That’s why Norwood launched #BeSocialWise – an insightful and provocative campaign that says enough is enough: it’s time to take a break from social media.
Let’s stand in solidarity and connect with each other across all the platforms, real life included.
Founded in 1795, Norwood is one of the UK’s oldest charities, proudly supported by Her Majesty The Queen. By providing the highest-quality care tailored to individual needs, we transform the lives of over 4,500 vulnerable children and their families, people with learning disabilities and autism, and children with special educational needs across London and the South East.
Norwood’s Children & Families Service costs £2.5 million a year to run. This figure will only increase as we are now being asked to go into schools to assess and handle cases. We receive no statutory funding for these services, so all of the money must be raised through voluntary donations. To support Norwood, click here.
